The Volition Cult	Posted - 2007.08.03 09:36:00 - [1] My office at work recently started a cake baking competition, where by each week, one of us bakes a cake for the office every Friday... Today is my day, and over the past few days I have been working on a Nyx Cake. Bearing in mind, that I have no cake baking experiance before trying this, or any real cooking experiance so some of these photo's may shock unprepared readers... Last Tuesdays Test Run: Images 1 & 2: Showing the base of the beta cake, without any topings. Due to an accident, it came out grey and mold coloured... However, not reading the results of Google Searches correctly, I made the mistake of not relising that sause in cakes goes in the middle and not the top for a reason... Things fell apart about now... http://stone.alpha-force.net/files/cake/IMAGE_007.jpg http://stone.alpha-force.net/files/cake/IMAGE_008.jpg Yesturdays Live Attempt: Image 1 & 2: Using better cutting tools, and using paper templates (blueprints) to cut the cake, as well as rasberry sause in between the sponge and not on top created a much better base. http://stone.alpha-force.net/files/cake/IMAGE_010.jpg http://stone.alpha-force.net/files/cake/IMAGE_011.jpg Image 3 & 4: Final Product. Using the butter icing worked much better. If anyone wants scanned copys of the blueprints, templates and planning paperwork to try this themselves, let me know.

I think they expected something like this from me though. They all know I either sleep, work, or play eve. They have a form they fill in that has scores out of 10 for orginallity, taste, texture, etc and who ever scores the highest average at the end wins. So I have 8 weeks more worth of cakes to enjoy and judge before they count the results. Sure the Nyx will have the highest score at the end of this. Hehe. If not, they are getting lectures on why anything Gallente always pwns. Hmm, apart from checking Eve-O forums, and eating cake at work, I do find time to do actual work at work... Honest.
